Horse Cookies

4 C shredded apples (stems, seeds, and skin) or carrots

2 C oats

4 C bran

1 C brown sugar

1 T cinnamon (omit if using carrots)

Mix all ingredients together.  If your mix is dry, add a little water.

Scoop a heaping soup spoon into your hand and FIRMLY shape into a ball

Then flatten while keeping it firmly shaped so that it will stay together

Then place on parchment lined cookie sheet (or dehydrator tray) and bake in a 200° oven for 1 – 2 hours (I prefer to dehydrate them for 12 hours) until dry.

Store in an airtight container (I use old yogurt or sour cream containers).  Makes 65-70 cookies.  My horse LOVES them.
