For this small ladies blue set I used # 4 double point needles and 1 skein of “Bamboo Wool” Net Wt 1.76oz./50g.  87yds/80m.  55% Bamboo/45% Wool.

K = Knit

P = Purl

St = Stitch

For the main body:

1. Cast on 28 (32-med, 36-Lg) stitches.

2. K one row.

3. K 2 st, P 2 st, until piece measures 2″.

4. K until piece measures 4″ (4 1/4″-med, 4 1/2″-Lg).

5. K 26 (30-med, 34-Lg) stitches, place 2 (4-med & Lg)stitches on holder (if you don’t have a “holder” use a different colored yarn to hold your stitches). P 28 st (30-med, 34-Lg), K 28 st (30-med, 34-Lg), P 28 st (30-med, 34-Lg), K 28 st (30-med, 34-Lg) then add 2 st (4-med & lg).

6. K until piece measures 6″ (6 1/4″-med, 6 1/2″-lg).

7. K 2 st, P 2 st until piece measures 8″ (8 1/4″-med, 8 1/2″-lg).

8. Cast off in purl stitch (I find this makes a “looser” edge).

For the thumb:

1.Pick up 2 st (4-med & lg) from holder, 4 st on each side and 2 st (4-med & lg) on top.

2. K 12 st (16-med & lg).

3. K 2 st, P 2 st until piece measures 1 1/2″ (2″-med & lg).

4. Cast off in p st.

Weave or “tuck” ends into finished mitten to hide.
