Mitten Ornaments

Steps for Mittens right to left

Steps are backwards (I am left handed so…) right to left.  Take a piece of polymer clay and form a ball approximately 3/4″ of an inch in size for mitten.  Make another approximately 1/4″ of an inch in size.  Flatten each piece as shown.  Trim with a toothpick to make the shape shown.  Use your fingers to make the final shape of the mitten and decorative tip.  Use your hand to smooth your pieces.  Take a piece of floral wire and shape (I use my antique salt shaker).  Insert into mitten.  Place decorative tip on end.

Sorry the wire looks funky.  I am at the end of my spool and didn’t have time to make it shapelier.

Oops! Slightly over cooked. No big. I am painting over it anyway.

Bake in 350 oven for 15 minutes per 1/4″ of thickness (my oven is really hot so I over cooked these).  Let cool.   When cool, paint to your desired pattern with Acrylic paint.

Almost done...
